Creating a sense of spaciousness in a small area
and combining the client’s love of travel were
requirements in this bath. Texture rather than color
added interest and a contemporary Asian influence
to the room. The melding of curved walls and the
bowedmetal vanity are balanced with the strong
linear elements of the metal mirror, textured wall tile
and glass pendants. The marble mosaic tile was
purchased by the client during his travels.

The floor plan in this model home called for a basic powder
room, but the clients asked the designer to create a “wow”
factor. The translucent vessel sink keeps the attention on
the Rainforest marble countertop. The glass mosaic back-
splash picks up the colors in the counter andmimics the
vein, appearing to continue up the wall. Paint appeared too
plain against the strong textures, so a faux artist plastered
the walls in a metallic blast, adding impact.
